This is my first posting on my fiber blog.  As I explore fiber arts, tools and methods, I will document and share what I have learned.  The arts have been a lifelong passion.  Currently, I am focusing on creating thread with which to knit and weave with.  Mostly I spin fiber on drop or supported spindles, which I will share in future posts.

I am learning to spin on spinning wheels, next.  I just put together and stained my Kromski Polonaise.  I oiled it and am practicing treadling to get the rhythm.

I have an antique spinning wheel that needs a little more work to get her spinning.

And I have a vintage spinning wheel, made by the late Eric Gudat, in Washingtonville, Ohio. I believe it is maple and it is just beautifully made.  It is signed Eric Gudat, 1987.  I applied Howard's feed and wax to all the wooden parts, then oiled the metal moving parts.   Hopefully, I will be able to post a picture here.

Well, I did it, but it wasn't easy.  I will look up some tutorials for next time on cropping
